South Island, New Zealand
The South Island of New Zealand offers so much if you have the time to explore both the usual hot-spots and those out of the way places that take more time to find. Some of my best memories come from following gravel roads into the South Island back country - simply to find out what's at the end. The pages in this section generally follow a north to south traverse of the South Island - hopefully reflecting the range of scenic beauty that is on offer. Whether that be the secluded and golden beachs of the Tasman Bay and Marlborough Sounds, the lakes, mountains and rugged beauty of the Mackenzie Country and Central Otago or the glaciers, lakes and wild coast of the West Coast, there's something to draw the traveller.
